This is the perfect restaurant for a date, simply lit, quiet, reservations required. We were seated on time, waters with the small bottle left on the table, we ordered she crab soup.. it was my first time having it.. it was absolutely delicious. I'm a big fan now. My entree was honey brussel sprouts, mac n cheese, blackened salmon. the salmon and brussel sprouts were very flavorful and each bite was better than the last. the mac n cheese though..! It was disappointing, tasted like noodles with cheese poured on top. it didn't match the salmon, it had no taste, needed salt & pepper or something to help it taste like something. My iced tea was really good too. so the mac was the only thing that wasn't up to par. Finally dessert was a special on the board, caramel apple bread pudding. we shared one, it was a huge shareable piece that was warm and melted in my mouth very good. I will absolutely go back here and try something new next time to see what else they have.

Unique Cocktail Offerings, we tried the Apple-lachin and Stoic which are pictured. Great drinks that I highly recommend. Super friendly and accommodating staff and server. Menu has great options as every offering sounds great. Best burger I’ve had in some time. Would definitely return.

Had a good brunch at the savory grain. The breakfast burger was a bit of a shock with how tiny the biscuit was but after having the patty get a little more cooked by the kitchen it tasted amazing! Can’t wait to come back and try it again!

10/10! Took a chance on this spot while visiting RVA and it exceeded our expectations. Really cool atmosphere and our server Lizzie explained the menu very well and provided great suggestions. We ordered two Blanchards Coffees, one with bourbon and the other with moonshine and they have a toasted marshmallow syrup you can have too. We ordered the Trash Plate with half home fries and half smokey gouda grits. And the shrimp and grits with chorizo. Both were amazing and full of flavor. I definitely recommend.

We had a very disappointing brunch experience. The food came out cold for both of us. The $18 chicken and waffle dish included a very small piece of chicken, and the waffle paled in comparison to something you could make yourself at a hotel breakfast bar. Service was also underwhelming. The only positive was the live music, which was lovely. A pity.
